I’m Benji. People say that I’m really cute, especially when I stick my tongue out. I like spending time in the park, so love it when the Young Carers come down or when the Rangers take me out in the park for a hack with my friends. At 36 I’m the oldest working pony on the yard though now I only do half a day at the weekends as I feel I deserve it.

Hey, I’m Blue. I am fairly new at Horse Rangers (I arrived in December 2021). I am only nine years old so bear with me whilst I learn the ropes.

Hello I am Bob the Cob. Do you like what they have done there? My new family were thinking of changing my name but there are and have been some lovely Bob’s at HRA so in their honour I have remained Bob. I am loving my new life here and really enjoying getting to know all the new faces, everyone has been so kind and my new horsey friends are great fun especially at the paddocks.

Hi all. Like Tubber, I originally come from the Emerald Isle, however my previous life in an Eventing yard in England meant that I soon developed more of an English neigh. I have a very sweet nature and I’ve been told that I’m nice to ride.

Hello! I’m Captain. I’m a 16.2hh skewbald Irish Cob, I might be big, but I’m very sensitive and gentle. I came from a trekking centre in the Brecon Beacons, and I love it here: there are so many people to meet and it makes me so happy to see young people building their riding and animal care skills! My best friend is Max.

I am Charlie, also known as Showman Rogers. I am rather young and I joined the Horse Rangers team back in March 2020. I am just adorable. When I first arrived, my mane and feathers were all over the place. Theresa and her team had me trimmed and looking proper in a flash. The thing about me is that I LOVE my food and I will chase you for it.

I’m afraid I come with a sad story, with the happiest ending ever.

Hi, my name is Dolly, and I am an 18 year old mare. I am a bay Clydesdale x Cob and although I might look small in my picture I am actually 16.2hh. My best friend is Shimmer and we like staying in the same shelter. My trot is very comfy and I am very brave. I am a gentle giant who tried my best to please. I joined HRA in 2016 when I was 8 and love everyone here.

My name is Drummer. I started at Rangers on a trial period (late 2021, around November time) and the stable team liked me so much that they decided to keep me, which is great fun. Like my new pal, Blue, I enjoy playing with all my new friends. I am the youngest of them all, so admittedly, I am quite mischievous: don’t leave anything next to me because I will pick it up and play with it for a while.

Greetings! I’m Dublin and I am a big softy at heart. I really enjoy helping in HRA’s RDA sessions as the riders are really nice and the volunteers like to give us all a lot of fuss (and sometimes a sneaky carrot if we are lucky, but don’t tell the Stable Staff!). One of my best friends is Nat!

Hey! I’m Dylan. If I were a human, I’d be called Mary Poppins because I’m practically perfect in every way! I’m an honest guy and a great role model for the other horses and have to be, as I’m the lead horse in the Musical Ride Display Team, a role I take very seriously and enjoy! I love to jump and am a workaholic, I love it! My favourite thing after a long day is having a bath and I like to have a drink from the hose at the same time!

Glorious Gloria, that’s me. I’m full of love, full of fun and very friendly. Before I came to Horse Rangers I spent my time as a companion horse. I love my life at Rangers as I am really well looked after and cared for. You can call me Gloria for short, if you prefer.

Hey everyone. I’m Krystal AKA Fluffy. The Rangers call me Fluffy because of my fluffy mane! I’m a lovely horse and have been known to be quite cheeky and fun. Before I came to Horse Rangers, I had a foal called Kahn, who, like me, was rehomed through World Horse Welfare. I used to take part in the Musical Ride Display Team and had such fun performing the routines. Now that I have fully retired, I take it real easy, being pampered by my staff at Rangers.

I’m Malcolm, Malc, whatever you prefer to call me. I’ve heard people say that I’m a sweetheart and they love spoiling me. I am a brilliant all-rounder and can turn my hoof to any challenge put in front of me. I love a hug every now and again and when I was younger I enjoyed taking part in the Musical Ride Display Team.

My full name is Maximus. I’m big and beautiful and I always try to do my best. I enjoy the company of others and I’m very friendly. When I joined Horse Rangers in 2014, I was quite green as I was still quite young. I love to learn and am getting better each day! In fact now I’m told that I’m a very lovely school horse.

Hello I am Mouse, and I am a 20 year old mare but I am still very energetic. My colour is mouse sun and before I came, my name was Tressa but the people at Horse Rangers named me Mouse because of my colouring. I am a highland pony and 13.3hh which makes me perfect for ponies. Sometimes I get a little spooked but not always.

Unforgettable, that’s what I am! I’m Nat. If you haven’t already heard, I came to HRA with my fellow Epping and Essex Horse Rangers Horse, Dublin, back in 2009. Within my first year, I was already a part of the Musical Ride Display Team. I think the Stable Staff quickly recognised how much I was in tune with the music, well, they don’t call me Nat King Cole for nothing!

Hey there! I’m Ozzie. I’m a 16hh dark bay heavyweight cob, and I joined the Horse Rangers family in 2013, when I was 7. Although I’m getting on in years, I still love going for a canter in Bushy Park with my friends, we all have so much fun together! My best friends here are Dylan and Malcolm.

I came to Horse Rangers in June 2022 on a trial basis and I liked it so much that I decided to stay on. I made friends with all the girls but my best friend is Krystal.

Hi, I am Shimmer! I’m a Dutch Warmblood black mare, and I am 16hh. I came to Horse Rangers on 22 October 2012, and my previous owner was a former Horse Ranger officer. I am best friends with Dolly, and I have been part of the musical ride since I arrived, often as one of the lead horses. Fun fact: my real name is Virnanba.

My full name is ‘Mon capitaine Spirou’. I arrived to Horse Rangers on the 31st of March 2024. I love meeting new people and thrive on all the attention I get at Rangers from both the stable team and the Rangers family. I am big but ever so gentle.

Hi, I am Storm! I’m a black Fell pony, and I am 13.2hh. I arrived at Horse Rangers on the 3 March 2026, and I even have my family tree going back four generations. Both my parents have very silly names, my mum is called Greenholem Look At Me, and my dad’s name is Salisbury Delia. Even my full name is a bit silly, Notlaw Storm! Before coming here, I spent many years being part of the driving team for the late Duke of Edinburgh.

I’m Tubber, Top of the morning to ya! If you haven’t guessed, I was born in Galway, Ireland and the other horses say that sometimes my neigh has a bit of an Irish accent to it! I joined Horse Rangers in 2012 and settled in well but I’m not too keen on lots of fuss, preferring my own personal space. That said, I like taking part in group activities such as the RDA sessions, particularly when we play games!
