Weekend Sessions
Every weekend we welcome 229 children and young people to learn how to care for and ride horses. During these 4-hour sessions, our Rangers work through our badge syllabus, at their own pace and supporting each other through peer-to-peer learning.

Learning at your child’s own pace
Our youth development sessions aim to teach your child every aspect of horse care and riding through our four-stage badge system: Tenderfoot, Bronze Spur, Silver Spur and Golden Spur. Progression is encouraged at your child’s own pace, helping them build confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
As your child’s confidence and knowledge grow, there is the opportunity to take on more responsibility, supporting and mentoring younger members through Leadership Achievements. This builds leadership, communication and teamwork, skills that are valuable both on and off the yard.

Peer-to-peer mentoring
Your child will support and learn from others, developing teamwork and leadership skills.
Where a Ranger goes from here
None of my family have ever learned to ride and so this is very new for me. During the week my school doesn't have any grass and so this is wonderful to come to Bushy Park to be in the open in a safe environment.
